THE MARTIN FAMILY SPECIAL OFFER OF THE SEASON:
DEER TRAIL LEGUME MIX

Deer Trail Mix is a special blend of Clovers and Trefoil, for a high protein forage.  Once established,
deer will keep coming back for this high protein treat.  Hunters and wildlife lovers plant Deer Trail
Legume Mix to help attract that special trophy deer.

ESTABLISHMENT:  Deer Trail Mix can be planted in the Spring (March-May) or in late Summer-early Fall
(August 15th - September).

SEEDING RATES:   New Seeding                                Plant 8-15 lbs. per acre.
Overseeding established area     Plant 5-6 lbs. per acre.

Deer Trail Mix can be established by Conventional, No-till or Frost Seeding Practices.

CONVENTIONAL SEEDING:   Prepare a seed bed by plowing or disking.  Once a smooth seedbed is
ready, seed can be drilled or broadcast into the seedbed.  For the best results, cultipack or lightly
rake area to ensure good soil-to-seed contact.

NO_TILL SEEDING:  Remove all living vegetation by spraying chemicals to kill the vegetation.  Then
use a No-Till drill to plant the seed.

FROST SEEDING:  This is the old fashion way of establishing hay and forage crops.  Simply broadcast
Deer Trail Mix over the soil in late February-March. Usually Temperature Range from freezing at night
and thawing during the day.  The process of freezing and thawing is Mother Nature's way of planting
seed by honeycombing the soil.  For best results, the area to be planted should be clean of all
unwanted vegetation, prior to planting.

FERTILIZATION:  Optional: Apply a starter fertilizer like 6-24-24 at a rate of 50 - 100 lbs. per acre.

Remember, prior to planting conduct a soil PH test before planting.  Acid soil will reveal any soil
nutrient deficiencies.
